Some European LED driver power supply safety certification authorities will adopt EN 61347-2-13 LED standard, such as TUV/GS of Germany, CE of European Union,BS of UK, they all adopt EN 61347-2-13 standard when conducting safety certification for imported LED driver. Let’s learn more about EN 61347-2-13 standard.
EN is short for European Norm. The EN standards are customized and modified by two European organizations, CEN ELEC and CEN, and their joint body, CEN/CEN ELEC.EN 61347-2-13 standard is one of their European standards, but for LED driver power supply imported to Europe, it is the performance guarantee of LED driver power supply. The LED driver power supply entering Europe should meet the requirements of EN 61347-2-13 standard. For power supply enterprises and electronic product manufacturers, it is quite necessary to understand this standard. EN 61347-2-13LED driver power Supply standard provides scope, mandatory marking, and construction requirements for power supplies for LED modules.
EN 61347-2-13LED driver power supply standard requires that the voltage of the LED power supply should not exceed 250V if it is dc, or 1000V if it is AC, either 50Hz or 60Hz. On the LED driver power creep distance and electrical interval has defined the scope of requirements, built-in basic insulation and additional insulation creepage distance and electrical clearance requirements of 2.5mm and 1.7mm, enhanced insulation for 5.0mm and 4.0mm; External independent basic insulation and additional insulation creep distance and electrical clearance compression ball 3.0mm and 3.0mm, enhanced insulation requirements 6.0mm and 6.0mm.EN 61347-2-13LED driver power Supply standard provides scope, mandatory marking, and construction requirements for power supplies for LED modules.
EN 61347-2-13 Labeling of LED power supplies requires that the rated voltage range, frequency and current of the power supply should be specified. For a constant voltage type of LED power supply, the rated output voltage should be specified. For a constant current type of LED power supply, the rated output current and high output voltage should be specified.
EN 61347-2-13 also specifies the terminals for LED power supplies, grounding protection, moisture and insulation, dielectric strength, heat/fire resistance, creepage resistance, and corrosion resistance.
